Nail of the Day #1

I meant to post this a few days ago when I was actually wearing the colour but forgot.  Anywhoo... It is 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Parma Violet.

I think this is a really lovely colour for summer.  In the pictures it looks very pink.  But it is more of a lilac with pinky hues.  I'm wearing two coats on top of base coat with a top coat of Sech Vite.  I love this colour and since buying it have worn it loads.  I got it in Boots for £2.99 and it is part of the 'Candy Collection'.

What colours are you loving for the summer?

Glossy Box: May

Happy Birthday Glossy Box!

Today I got my first Glossy Box, which also coincided with their 1 year anniversary.  Because of this and what I have seen of past boxes I had high expectations.

Inside were the usual five products but also a mirror and a birthday balloon which was a nice touch.  The box was the usual Glossy Box but did have a nice decorated tissue paper.  Which is so cute I might save it; not sure what for though.

Inside:

  • Noble Isle Bath and Shower Gel:  This has quite a perfumed smell; not something I would usually choose in a shower gel, but I quite like it.  I am yet to try it out so not sure how it lathers or feels.
  • Lolita Lempicka L'eau en Blanc & Eae de Parfum:  Yet again these are two perfumes I wouldn't necessarily choose as they are quite floral.  They are nice none the less and I will enjoy using them but can't see myself buying them after.
  • Collection 2000 Lasting Gel Eyeliner:  This is the product I'm most disappointed in, but only because of it's colour.  Brown.  I have and can see no need for me to have brown eyeliner.  But I will probably use the brush with my own gel eyeliner.
  • Eldora False Eyelashes: These are very simple fake eyelashes not particularly special or jazzy.  I am going out tonight though so will probably give them a go.
  • Neals Yard Remedies Rehydrating Rose Daily Moisture:  This is my favourite of all the products as I have had it before.  I used to buy this and always really liked it but haven't had it in a while so I'm pretty pleased to get it again.
I am a little disappointed with this box.  I think I expected something a bit jazzier because it was their birthday box.  However, some of the products are nice and the others I look forward to try (except for that eyeliner).  Plus the balloon and mirror are a nice touch.

Happy Birthday Glossy Box!

Hope you enjoy your Glossy Boxes!

Revlon Lip Butter: Review

As stated in my wish list the other day I really wanted to get the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter.  Well, I did and luckily I also had enough on my Boots card to pay for it.  It's like free make-up (I love that!).

I decided to get it in the Strawberry Shortcake colour, but it was difficult to choose between all the lovely colours they have to offer.

How it looks:

I really like the packaging; I think it is simple but cute.  I also like that the colour of the packaging matches the colour of the lip butter inside; a nice touch.

I am really happy with the colour I chose; a nice light pink which looks good both day and night.  I think considering it is a lip butter the colour is good; quite pigmented.  It has a lovely moisturising feel to it and glides onto the lips. According to the Superdrug website "94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%".

It has a nice glossy look to it but not too glossy.  Though I am yet to use it on dry lips, so we'll see how it fairs then.  The only downside is its lasting power.  Being a lip butter means it doesn't last as long as a lipstick would, which means applying it regularly to keep the colour.

I will definitely be getting a couple more of these in different colours.  Especially whilst Boots have an offer on them!

Next stop: Candy Apple!

Wish List #1

Here is just an insight of a few things I want of late:

  1. Topshop Bush in Neon Rose: £6.00. There has been a lot of hype on Blogosphere about the Topshop cream blushers.  I think they look really good and this one is my favourite colour of all of them.  But with my recent MUA haul and my already substantial collection of blushers I'm not sure how much I actually need it.
  2. H&M Denim Shorts: £14.99.  I find I buy a new pair of denim shorts every summer.  This will be no exception.  These are so simple and with luck I won't bore of them by next summer as I usually do. I was going to pick them up in store a couple of weeks ago but decided I'd be good. Regretting it now.
  3. H&M Blouse: £7.99.  I'm really enjoying just plain white shirts and blouses at the minute and this one is so simple and has a lovely shape.  They are so multi-functional (great to dress up or down) and this one is a great price.  I would have ordered it already but it's not available in my size.  Next time I'm free I'll pop in to store and see if I can get it there.
  4. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter; Strawberry Shortcake: £7.99.  I love the look of these lip butters and there are quite a few colours I'd like to pick up.  This colour I think would suit an every day look in summer.  They are currently on offer in Boots for £5.99.  I think I may have enough on either my Superdrug or Boots card to get it with that. Here's hoping!
  5. American Apparel The Disco Pant in Black: £70.00.  I want these so much! I find myself on the website just salivating over the pictures.  The price is a bit steep so these will be a treat to myself.  Maybe for my birthday (I will be 21 after all).  I have looked on eBay but the prices are not much lower and I would like to have the safety of having the option to return or switch sizes; which a lot of the sellers do not offer.  Someone buy them for me please. Please?
Are any of these on your Wish Lists?
